Game Highlights
In a game dominated by striped shirts,
West Babylon defeated Bellport 72-54.
Using a strong inside game Bellport out scored West
Bablyon 50 to 46, but
Bellport (4 for 8) could not overcome West Babylon's
22 point advantage on the
foul line, as they shot 26 for 33.
The first quarter, in which Bellport
took a 18-16 advantage, saw both teams
shooting technical fouls for uniform number violations.
In the second quarter,
Bellport was leading 30-29, but relinquished the lead
as foul trouble and West
Babylon scoring seven consecutive times from the charity
stripe, opened up a
38-30 half time lead. The second half saw Bellport
(5-5) rally and take the lead before
foul trouble and West Babylon's 12 of 14 foul shooting
ended Bellport's quest for
a victory.
Jason Trent scored 15, Billy Hardy added 12,
and Alvin Dennis totaled 10 points
for Bellport. Germaine Russell (12) and Trayarn Singletary
combined for 23 rebounds.
